BILL NUMBER: S5664
SPONSOR: CLEARE
TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the avail-
ability of recordings and transcripts of meetings of the New York state
public authorities control board
PURPOSE::
To require basic transparency by the Public Authorities Control Board,
in terms of the timely posting and archiving of its video recordings and
written transcripts from official meetings.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS::
This bill would require basic transparency by the Public Authorities
Control Board, in terms of the timely posting and archiving of its video
recordings and written transcripts from official meetings.
JUSTIFICATION::
Currently, the PACB appears to archive meeting videos for two months and
has no unified database to find previous meeting minutes, recordings or
transcripts. Given the volume, breath and financial scope of the matters
considered by the PACB, basic transparency would seem to be required.
