TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
the state highway system to Specialist Jason Johnston
 
PURPOSE::
To designate a portion of a state highway constituting route 31-A
between Powerline Road and route 98 in the town of Albion, county of
Orleans to "Specialist Jason Johnston"
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS::
Section 1: Designates a portion of the state highway system to "Special-
ist Jason Johnston"
Section 2: States that the commissioner of transportation will provide
the installation and maintenance of signage of the state highway system.
Section 3: Establishes the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION::
This bill is at the request of Orleans County. It would honor the memory
of U.S. Army SPC Jason Johnston who was killed while serving the Afghan-
istan War on Terror in 2009.
