TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to establishing
a no fare program for individuals serving as full-time employees of the
New York city transit authority, the Long Island Railroad and the
Metro-North Commuter railroad company
PURPOSE:
To establish a no-fare program for individuals serving as full-time
employees of the New York City Transit Authority, the Long Island Rail-
road and the Metro-North Commuter railroad company.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Amends section 1266 of the public authorities law to add a
new subdivision 20, establishing a no-fare program for individuals serv-
ing as full-time employees of the New York City Transit Authority, the
Long Island Railroad, and the Metro-North Commuter railroad company.
Section 2: Sets Effective Date
JUSTIFICATION:
Currently, United Transit Leadership Organization employees do not have
access to commuter passes. This legislation will establish a no-fare
program for full-time New York City Transit Authority employees, the
Long Island Railroad, and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Minor to the New York City Transit Authority, the Long Island Railroad
and the Metro-North Commuter railroad company.
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the one-hundred-twentieth day after it
shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment
and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation
of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and
completed on or before such effective date.
