TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to granting
peace officer status to the reserve deputies of the Erie county sher-
iff's office
 
PURPOSE:
This bill would grant peace officer status to reserve deputies of the
Erie County Sheriff's Office.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: amends the criminal procedure law by adding a new subdivision
86, granting peace officer status to reserve deputies of the Erie County
Sheriff's Office.
Section 2: effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill will allow Erie County Sheriff's Office reserve deputies to
perform their duties as conservators of the peace in Erie County at
various large and small public venues throughout the county.
