TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 468 of the laws of 2022, amending the tax law
relating to authorizing the imposition of an occupancy tax in the
village of Briarcliff Manor, in relation to extending the effectiveness
thereof
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the extension of the
Village of Briarcliff Manor's occupancy tax.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Subdivision 2 of Chapter 468 of the Laws of 2022 is amended
to extend the village of Briarcliff Manor's occupancy tax until December
31, 2028.
Section 2: Establishes the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The Village of Briarcliff Manor, New York, in northern Westchester Coun-
ty, seeks to continue its occupancy tax, which is limited to 3%. The
Village Board and Mayor have asked for this extension to continue rais-
ing revenues that have allowed the Village to maintain and expand
services while keeping local property taxes as low as possible.

This act shall take effect immediately.
