TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the authorization
for imposition of additional sales tax in the county of Schoharie
 
PURPOSE:
To authorize the Schoharie County Board of Supervisors to impose an
additional one percent sales tax for a two-year period.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one amends section 1210 of the tax law to extend the authori-
zation for Schoharie County to impose an additional one percent (1%)
sales tax until November 30, 2027.
Section two provides the effective date.
 
EXISTING LAW:
The law expires on December 1, 2025.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation needs to be renewed in 2025 so that the county can
continue to collect the additional tax without interruption. Requested
by the Schoharie County Board of Supervisors (Res. No. 21).
 
LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
The law was previously extended by Chapter 61 of the laws of 2017 in an
omnibus measure (A.40001).
