TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the veterans' services law, in relation to establishing
a veterans' dental insurance coverage program; and making an appropri-
ation therefor
 
PURPOSE:
An act to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a veter-
ans' dental insurance coverage program; and making an appropriation.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section 1 the executive law is amended by adding a new section 366-a
regarding the Veterans dental insurance coverage program. This section
includes eligibility, establishing a sliding scale for copayments and
addresses program regulations.
Section 2 relates to appropriations from civil service to fund the
program.
Section 3 identifies effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Our veterans deserve all our support. Sadly, many of our Veterans do not
have access to dental insurance and therefore miss out on necessary
dental care. Having access to dental care can greatly improve our quali-
ty of life and health. Our Veterans should have, and deserve, access to
free dental care.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after it
shall have become a law.
