TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the education law, in relation to establishing the
bilingual teachers of tomorrow teacher recruitment and retention program
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To set forth requirements and guidelines for the Bilingual Teachers of
Tomorrow Recruitment and Retention Program.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section 1. Adds a new section to Education Law to establish the bilin-
gual teachers of tomorrow recruitment and retention program. This
section details the application, grants, and funding allocation for the
program.
Section 2. Effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill will enfranchise a segment of the population that would bene-
fit from this type of funding.
