TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to establishing
a residential parking system in the postal designation and area of
Queens village near the UBS arena
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
This bill would amend authorize the city of New York to establish a
residential parking system in the postal designation and area of Queens
Village near the UBS Arena.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
This bill creates a new section 1662-f to V&T Law to include a new park-
ing system in the postal designation surrounding Queens Village. No
permit shall be required in adjacent zoned areas for residential or
commercial use.
Local law TBD will set the factors necessitating the enactment of the
parking system.
Must lay out parking time/day. Provides for fee scheduling Fees will go
into NYC general fund.
No ordinance shall be required until a public hearing occurs pursuant to
the home rule.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Parking system adjacent to UBS Arena in Queens is congested and often
limits UBS patrons from parking nearby the arena. This bill will ensure
those parked around the arena are those that should be parked there.
 
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Stimulus to NYC General Fund.
