TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the labor law, in relation to requiring the department
of labor to create and maintain a list of available careers and job
listings in the state for veterans
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1. Amends labor law by adding a new section that adds language
describing "veteran" status within the context of the bill and author-
izes the commissioner to create and maintain a list of available careers
and job listings in New York State. Such a list shall be conspicuously
placed on the Department of Veterans' Services website.
Section 2. Effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Veterans returning home from active duty face a monumental task to rein-
tegrate into civilian life and employment proves one of the greatest
difficulties they might face. This bill would provide an additional
resource for veterans to ensure that they are afforded ease of access
when it comes to their transition back to civilian life.
