TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the state law, in relation to designating the state of
New York a purple heart state
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To amend the state law, in relation to designating the state of New York
a Purple Heart state.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1. State law is amended by adding section 92. This designates
the state of New York as a Purple Heart State
Section 2 sets forth the effective date.
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill will designate New York State as a Purple Heart state,
enshrining into law our gratitude for the sacrifices made by wounded
Veterans. New York State is already the proud home of the National
Purple Heart Hall of Honor; designating New York State as a Purple Heart
state would solidify our commitment to wounded veterans of our state.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None to the state.
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeeding the
date upon which it shall become law.
