TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the executive law, in relation to including Doodletown
Brook in the list of inland waterways eligible for the local waterfront
revitalization program
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Designates the Doodletown brook located in Rockland county as an inland
waterway.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Amends the executive law, in relation to adding Doodletown Brook to the
definition of inland waterways for the purposes of waterfront revitali-
zation.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
By designating Doodletown Brook as an inland waterway, the town of Stony
Point can align its use with the State's Coastal and Inland Waterway
Policies, which will allow the town to pursue the goals of improved
water quality and the preservation of open space and wildlife habitat.
This legislation will protect and preserve Doodletown Brook for years to
come.
