TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the public health law, in relation to quality improve-
ment and increased consumer transparency in assisted living residences
PURPOSE:
This chapter amendment clarifies the provisions of L.2024, c.558,
regarding quality improvement and increased consumer transparency in
assisted living facilities.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
This amendment revises the underlying chapter on quality improvement and
consumer transparency in assisted living facilities by extending the
deadlines for several key reporting requirements: the due date for the
first annual report on quality measures, the deadline for assisted
living facilities to submit information on rates, rent ranges, admission
agreements, and a summary of service fees to the Department of Health
(DOH), and the timeline for publishing the assisted living quality
reporting results on the DOB's website.

None.
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is a negotiated change to the underlying chapter.
LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
Chapter amendment to Chapter 558 of the Laws of 2024. S.8865 passed the
Senate in June 2024 and A.5790-B passed the Assembly in May 2024.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None.
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the same day and in the same manner as a
chapter of the laws of 2024, amending the public health law relating to
quality improvement and increased consumer transparency in assisted
living residences, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.8865 and
A. 5790-B, takes effect.
