TITLE OF BILL:
An act to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation
contracts of the Hicksville union free school district
 
PURPOSE:
Relates to transportation contracts of the Hicksville union free school
district.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Al the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or
caused to be had and taken by the Hicksville union free school district
and by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relat-
ing to or in connection with transportation contracts C577695, C577697,
C577696, and C577700 of the 2022-23 school year, and all acts incidental
hereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed, notwith-
standing any failure to comply with the contract advertisement
provisions of the education law, the general municipal law or any other
law or any other statutory authority, rule or regulation, other than
those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of
section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error,
defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceeding had and taken.
Section 2: This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it
shall have become a law.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Correction of technical error which would otherwise result in a loss of
$2,000,000 in previously awarded State aid.
 
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None to the state. This act shall take effect on the thirteenth day it
shall have become a law.
 
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the thirteenth day it shall have become a
law.
