TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the general municipal law, in relation to permitting the
town of Kent, Putnam county, to lease certain sports field fences for
advertisements
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Permits the town of Kent, Putnam county, to lease certain sports field
fences for advertisements SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Allows the town of
Kent in Putnam County to lease municipal sports field fences, annually,
at a nominal rent to not-for-profit corporations or organizations for
the purposes of advertising. With revenue from said leases being used
solely by the town's parks and recreation department.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The town of Kent has a number of sports fields under its jurisdiction,
and wants the ability to lease space on the fences of those fields for
the purposes of advertising in order to increase the revenue of the
town's parks and recreation department to improve and better maintain
said sports fields. Additionally, this may reduce the tax burden on
residents of the town.
