TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 99 of the laws of 2014, amending the vehicle and
traffic law, the general municipal law, and the public officers law
relating to owner liability for failure of operator to comply with
traffic-control indications in the city of New Rochelle, in relation to
extending the provisions of such chapter
PURPOSE:
To extend the expiration of New Rochelle's red light camera program.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one of this bill provides that sections three, nine, twelve-b,
thirteen, and fourteen of section 15 of chapter 99 of the laws of 2014
shall be deemed repealed December 1, 2029.
Section two provides the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: This bill
extends the sunset for the 2014 bill authorizing the City of New
Rochelle to install and operate traffic-control signal photo violation-
monitoring devices or "red light cameras," until December 1, 2029.
