TITLE OF BILL:
An act to repeal paragraph (g) of subdivision 4 of section 209 of the

PURPOSE:
To repeal a section of the civil service law and remove limits on what
deputy sheriffs can discuss during collective bargaining.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

civil service law to broaden the scope of terms that can be set during
collective bargaining by certain deputy sheriffs.

JUSTIFICATION:
The current law limits the freedom of certain deputy sheriffs during
collective bargaining by preventing them from discussing non-compensato-

able to better negotiate the terms of their employment while considering
previously neglected facets of their jobs.
