TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the public
authorities law relating to the construction and financing of facilities
for certain public libraries, in relation to including the Parma Public
Library
 
PURPOSE:
This bill will designate the Parma Public Library, which is located in
Parma, New York, as an eligible public library for the purposes of
Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) financing and
construction services.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one of this bill amends the public authorities law, relating to
the construction and financing of facilities for certain public
libraries, to include the Parma Public Library.
Section two provides the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The Parma Public Library, located in the town of Parma, Monroe County,
is interested in partnering with DASNY to assist the library with any
future renovation and expansion projects. To that end, the Parma Public
Library requested this legislation in order to be desig- nated as a
"public library" for DASNY purposes and to receive the requi- site stat-
utory authorization needed to become eligible for special financing and
construction services.
