TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the public
authorities law relating to the construction and financing of facilities
for certain public libraries, in relation to including the Ogden Farm-
ers' Library
 
PURPOSE:
This bill will designate the Ogden Farmers' Library, which is located in
Ogden, New York, as an eligible public library for the purposes of
Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) financing and
construction services.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one of this bill amends the public authorities law, relating to
the construction and financing of facilities for certain public
libraries, to include the Ogden Farmers' Library.
Section two provides the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The Ogden Farmers' Library, located in the town of Ogden, Monroe County,
is interested in partnering with DASNY to assist the library with any
future renovation and expansion projects. To that end, the Ogden Farm-
ers' Library requested this legislation in order to be designated as a
"public library" for DASNY purposes and to receive the requisite statu-
tory authorization needed to become eligible for special financing and
construction services.
