TITLE OF BILL:
An act to authorize the towns of Harmony and North Harmony in Chautauqua
county to elect a single town justice to preside in the town courts of
such towns
 
PURPOSE:
To authorize the towns of Harmony and North Harmony in Chautauqua County
to operate from a single justice court facility and elect a single town
justice to preside in the town courts.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
The towns of Harmony and North Harmony in Chautauqua County conducted a
complete study providing a joint solution for a single town justice to
preside in the town courts of such towns. Following the next general
election, the plan will be implemented in the towns of Harmony and North
Harmony.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The towns of North Harmony and Harmony are virtually the same. The
infrastructure, personnel, and location of the town of North Harmony
Court would be able to handle the additions of the Harmony Court. In
addition, this would help alleviate the further problem of finding capa-
ble, qualified, and willing residents to work within the courts.
