TITLE OF BILL:
An act authorizing the International We Love U Foundation to file an
application for exemption from real property taxes
 
PURPOSE:
Authorizes the International We Love U Foundation to file an application
for exemption from real property taxes.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Authorizes the Town of New Windsor assessor to accept from
the International We Love U foundation an application for exemption from
real property taxes.
Section 2: Sets effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
International We Love U Foundation is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt
organization. The organization acquired real property in the Town of New
Windsor, Orange County. Due to an error, they could not apply for an
exemption for the 2022-2023 tax year.
This legislation will allow the assessor to accept and act on an appli-
cation for exemption for the 2022-2023 tax year. The legislation has
been requested by the International We Love U Foundation and has been
verified by the Town of New Windsor Assessor.
