Existing law establishes the Office of the Military and requires the Office, under direction of the Governor, to supervise the military affairs of this State. (NRS 412.064) Section 6 of this bill changes the name of the Office to the Department of the Military. Sections 1, 2, 4, 7-16, 18, 19, 25-27, 38 and 52-60 of this bill replace references to the Office of the Military with references to the Department of the Military.
Existing law provides that the forces of the Nevada National Guard must be organized, armed, disciplined, governed, administrated and trained as prescribed by Office regulations, in addition to applicable federal laws and other regulations. (NRS 412.116) Sections 2-5, 17-24, 28-37 and 39-51 of this bill replace references to “Office regulations” with references to “Department regulations.”
