Existing law requires the Department of Health and Human Services to develop and administer a State Plan for Medicaid which includes a list of specific medical services required to be provided to recipients of Medicaid, including screening for breast and cervical cancer. (NRS 422.063, 422.270, 422.27174, 422.27176; 42 U.S.C. § 1396a) Section 1 of this bill requires the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services to include under Medicaid coverage for screening for lung, prostate and colorectal cancer. Section 2 of this bill makes a conforming change to require the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services to administer the provisions of section 1 in the same manner as other provisions relating to Medicaid.
