The State Treasurer's Office directs the management of financial transactions conducted on behalf of the state. Responsibilities includes: investing state and local government funds; issuing and servicing debt on behalf of the state; managing the state's Collateral Pool Program; and distributing interest earnings to statutorily approved funds and budget accounts. The office is also responsible for managing the state's banking relationships, drawing federal funds, and the distribution of state checks.
