The Compliance Enforcement Division is the regulatory arm of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Regulation of the auto industry provides consumer protection through the licensing and regulation of businesses related to the manufacture, repair, sale, and disposal of motor vehicles. The purpose of the fraud investigation section is to investigate and resolve fraudulent activity related to DMV products and services. The division also investigates all complex and criminal complaints filed against business licensees. Staff conduct audits, monitors, inspects, and provides investigative services on the internal and external entities related to the DMV core programs while also operating the business licensing, vehicle inspection, and appraisal programs.
