Existing law authorizes the Governor to annually proclaim August 9 as “Indigenous Peoples Day” in the State of Nevada. (NRS 236.037) This bill instead establishes the second Monday in October as “Indigenous Peoples Day” and authorizes the Governor to issue annually a proclamation encouraging the observance of “Indigenous Peoples Day.”
