Existing law creates the Nevada State Board on Geographic Names to coordinate and approve geographic names within the State for official recommendation to the United States Board on Geographic Names. (NRS 327.110) The Nevada State Board on Geographic Names consists of 12 voting members who serve without compensation, travel expenses or subsistence allowances except as may be provided by the members' respective agencies and organizations. (NRS 327.120, 327.130) Section 1 of this bill adds a representative of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to the membership of the Nevada State Board on Geographic Names. Section 1.5 of this bill provides that members of the Nevada State Board on Geographic Names are entitled to receive the per diem allowance and travel expenses as provided for state officers and employees generally.
