The bill amends existing legislation to rename the "Governor's Residence Advisory Commission" to the "Governor's Residence Management Committee" and outlines its membership and responsibilities. The committee will be administratively attached to the general services department and will consist of the governor or their designee, the secretary of general services or their designee from the facilities management division, and three members appointed by the governor with staggered terms of two, three, and four years. The chair of the committee will be designated by the governor, and appointed members will receive per diem and mileage as provided for nonsalaried officers.

Additionally, the bill specifies the duties and powers of the management committee, which include planning and acquiring furnishings and decorations for the governor's residence, monitoring maintenance, conducting inventories, and developing statewide interest in the residence. The committee is also authorized to accept donations and enter into public promotions to support its objectives. Furthermore, a permanent trust fund known as the "Governor's Residence Preservation Fund" is established to consist of gifts, donations, and appropriations for the committee's use, with expenditures governed by specific regulations.
