The bill amends the existing law regarding the Governor's Residence Advisory Commission, renaming it to the Governor's Residence Management Committee. This new committee will be administratively attached to the general services department and will consist of the governor or their designee, the secretary of general services or their designee from the facilities management division, and three members appointed by the governor. The appointments will now include staggered terms of two, three, and four years for the three members, with subsequent appointments maintaining the four-year term to ensure continuity.
Additionally, the bill specifies that the chair of the committee will be designated by the governor. It removes the previous requirement for the commission to consist of members selected from a list provided by the governor's mansion foundation and eliminates the annual election of a chairman from among the commission members. The appointed members will not receive compensation but will be entitled to per diem and mileage as outlined in the Per Diem and Mileage Act.
