This bill permits the Department of Information Technology to undertake information technology projects for the judicial branches of government. It establishes a new section within the Department of Information Technology Act that outlines the department's duties, including entering into agreements for IT projects, establishing price agreements with vendors, and providing an annual catalog of available IT goods and services. The department is also granted the authority to require non-agency customers to comply with relevant rules and guidance, while limiting access to non-agency data to what is necessary for maintaining the offered goods and services.
Additionally, the bill includes an appropriation of $1,200,000 from the general fund to the administrative office of the district attorneys for fiscal year 2027. This funding is designated for the purchase of technology goods and services, in consultation with the Department of Information Technology, to support district attorneys across the state. Any unspent funds at the end of the fiscal year will revert back to the general fund.
