This bill declares January 30, 2026, as "New Mexico Food and Farms Day" in the House of Representatives. The day is intended to celebrate the contributions of individuals, communities, organizations, and agencies in fostering a robust local food, farming, and ranching economy, while also emphasizing the importance of access to fresh, local, healthy, and nutritious food for all New Mexicans.

The resolution also honors several award recipients for their outstanding contributions to the local food system, including the Good Food for New Mexico Award for Las Cruces farmers' market, the Sowing Change Award for La Semilla Food Center and New Mexico Agrarian Commons, the Heart of the Land Award for Selece and Jeremy Gathings of Gathings Gardens LLC, the Growing the Future Award for Kiera McCabe of Skoden Farm LLC, the Living Land Award for Jennifer and Jason Moberly and Running M Farms and Ranches, and the New Mexico Grown Golden Chile Award for institutions purchasing local products. A copy of the memorial will be sent to the policy director of Farm to Table New Mexico.
