This bill amends the Lobbyist Regulation Act to require lobbyists and their employers to file a lobbying activity report with the Secretary of State. This report must disclose the specific legislation lobbied, the position taken by the lobbyist's employer (support, opposition, or other), and the name of the employer. The report must be filed within forty-eight hours of the commencement of lobbying activities and will be linked to the relevant legislation on the legislature's website. Additionally, the bill specifies that either the lobbyist or the employer can file the report, eliminating the need for duplicate submissions.

Furthermore, the bill amends existing provisions regarding the preservation of lobbyist registration and expenditure reports, now including lobbying activity reports. These reports must be archived and accessible on the Secretary of State's lobbyist disclosure website for at least ten years, ensuring they remain public records. The amendment also mandates that these reports be available in searchable and downloadable formats, enhancing transparency and public access to lobbying activities. The effective date for these provisions is set for January 1, 2027.
