Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, public schools are required to provide this water safety guidance to the parents of each student either upon enrollment or by the tenth school day of the school year. The guidance can be included in a district-wide or school-specific handbook, but schools must ensure they receive written acknowledgment from parents confirming receipt of the handbook.
