This bill amends the Pharmacy Act to establish regulations for custodial care facilities regarding the acquisition and possession of controlled substances specifically for withdrawal management. It introduces a new section that allows licensed custodial care facilities, which provide medically monitored withdrawal management under the supervision of a consulting pharmacist and have nursing staff available 24/7, to acquire, stock, and maintain dangerous drugs, including controlled substances, in compliance with board rules.

The bill defines "controlled substance" as any drug, substance, or immediate precursor listed in Schedules III and V of the Controlled Substances Act. The provisions of this act are set to take effect on January 1, 2026.
