AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO INCREASE THE COMPENSATION FOR MEDICAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five million dollars ($5,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2025 through 2030 to increase the compensation for medical residents of the university of New Mexico health sciences center; provided that no more than one million dollars ($1,000,000) may be expended in each fiscal year. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2030 shall revert to the general fund.
