AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITIES AUTHORITY FOR A STATEWIDE PUBLIC SCHOOL VENTILATION VERIFICATION ASSESSMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public school facilities authority for expenditure in fiscal year 2025 to conduct a statewide public school ventilation verification assessment. The assessment shall conform with consensus-based, code-enforceable building standards for reducing the risk of disease transmission through exposure to infectious aerosols and the federal centers for disease control and prevention "ventilation in buildings" performance guidelines. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
