This bill mandates that private entities employing or contracting delivery drivers must create and distribute identifying markers for those drivers to display on their personal vehicles. These markers must be reflective, capable of being illuminated, or both, and must be submitted to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission for recording. Each private entity is required to provide two markers to each delivery driver, who must then display them on the front windshield and rear window of their vehicle while providing delivery services. If the markers can be illuminated, they must be visible from outside the vehicle during nighttime.
Additionally, the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission is authorized to adopt necessary rules and regulations to implement this act. The law will take effect on the first day of the third month following its enactment, although the Commission may take anticipatory actions to prepare for its implementation.
