This bill mandates the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ Transit) to publish specific performance-related information on its website on a monthly basis. The required information includes the total number of rail passenger service cancellations, the causes of these cancellations (such as issues related to Amtrak, staffing shortages, and infrastructure problems), and the on-time performance metrics for rail passenger service, light rail service, motorbus regular route service, and Access Link service. Additionally, the bill stipulates that NJ Transit must report the mean distance between failures for both rail passenger and motorbus services, as well as any other relevant information deemed appropriate by the Commissioner of Transportation.

The bill emphasizes transparency and accountability in NJ Transit’s operations by ensuring that commuters have access to detailed performance data.
