This bill mandates the Department of Human Services (DHS) to provide guidance on housing-related services for Medicaid beneficiaries. Within 180 days of the act's effective date, the Commissioner of Human Services is required to issue guidance to various agencies, including the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services, public housing agencies, and Continuums of Care. The guidance aims to connect individuals receiving Medicaid with housing-related services and supports in a coordinated manner. Key components of the guidance will include establishing a framework for interagency assistance, simplifying processes for service providers, tracking common outcome measures, and outlining existing authorities for Medicaid funding to support housing-related services.

Additionally, the bill requires the development of a memorandum of understanding within 12 months to align eligibility criteria and encourage providers to seek Medicaid reimbursement for housing-related services. The DHS will also provide technical assistance to agencies involved in delivering these services. A report detailing the progress of these initiatives, including outcome measures and feedback from agencies, must be submitted to the Governor and Legislature within two years. The act will take effect immediately and will expire six months after the report is issued.
