This bill mandates that electric public utilities in New Jersey provide industrial portable power stations to customers during power outages lasting six or more hours. Specifically, the utility responsible for the interrupted service must supply one industrial portable power station for every 20 square miles affected by the outage. These power stations, which are large-scale lithium-ion batteries capable of charging external devices, must be made available by the end of the sixth hour of the outage and placed in central locations that are easily accessible to customers.

Additionally, the bill requires that the locations of these industrial portable power stations be published on the electric public utility's website within one hour of their deployment. This initiative aims to ensure that customers have access to power sources during extended outages, thereby enhancing their ability to manage the impact of such disruptions. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
