This bill mandates the Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI) to conduct a confidential review of hormone replacement therapy coverage provided by health insurance carriers in accordance with the New Jersey Menopause Coverage Act. The review will focus on two main aspects: the administration of hormone replacement therapy coverage by these carriers and whether there has been an aggregate increase in such coverage since the enactment of the Menopause Coverage Act.

To facilitate this review, the DOBI will analyze data related to prior authorization and step therapy exception approvals and denials, as well as any additional information deemed necessary by the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance from health insurance carriers. The findings from this review must be submitted to the Legislature within six months of the bill's effective date, after which the act will expire.
