The resolution designates August 30 of each year as Keith Pinto Day in New Jersey, honoring the life and contributions of Keith Pinto, a beloved member of the Toms River community. Keith, who graduated from Toms River High School North in 2020, was preparing to enlist in the United States Marines after attending Ocean County Community College. Tragically, at the age of 19, he lost his life during a lifeguarding shift when he was struck by lightning on August 30, 2021. His dedication to serving the community and his infectious personality left a lasting impact, leading to the renaming of the beach where he worked to Keith Pinto Memorial Beach and the street to Keith Pinto Way.

The resolution calls for the Governor to issue an annual proclamation recognizing August 30 as Keith Pinto Day, encouraging state agencies, organizations, and citizens to commemorate the day with appropriate activities and programs. This designation serves to honor Keith's legacy, his commitment to helping others, and the joy he brought to those around him, ensuring that his memory continues to inspire the community he served.
