This bill amends current law to extend eligibility for certain grant funding from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) to the Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf. Specifically, it allows the school to receive a one-time grant in accordance with the provisions outlined in subsection b of Section 15 of P.L.2000, c.72. This grant funding is intended to address health and safety issues and other critical needs within the school.

The bill establishes that the SDA will continue to provide grant funding to non-SDA districts, which are regular operating school districts, and now includes the Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf in this eligibility. The process for applying for these grants remains the same, with the commissioner responsible for notifying districts about application dates and making decisions on grant applications within a specified timeframe. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
