The bill amends existing legislation concerning ticket resale in New Jersey, specifically addressing the issuance of refunds or credits for tickets purchased through resellers or ticket resale websites. It mandates that if an event is postponed, the reseller or ticket resale website must provide a full refund of the ticket price, excluding handling and delivery fees, provided that this exclusion is disclosed to the purchaser. Alternatively, the reseller may offer a credit for the amount paid, also excluding handling and delivery fees, with the same disclosure requirement. Refunds must be made available for 30 days following the establishment of the postponement date.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that refunds are also required if the event is canceled or if the ticket does not grant admission due to various reasons, including counterfeiting or cancellation by the ticket issuer. The legislation aims to enhance consumer protection for individuals purchasing tickets through resale channels, ensuring they are not left without recourse in the event of changes to the scheduled events.
