This bill amends the responsibilities of the Chief Diversity Officer in the Division of Purchase and Property within the New Jersey Department of the Treasury. It removes the requirement for the Chief Diversity Officer to solely monitor the State's public contracting process and instead expands their duties to include the development and implementation of programs aimed at increasing the utilization of minority-owned and women-owned business enterprises in the State.

Specifically, the Chief Diversity Officer will now be tasked with monitoring the public contracting process to compile information on contracts awarded to minority-owned and women-owned businesses, as well as the total value of these contracts and the percentage awarded to these enterprises. The addition of these responsibilities is intended to enhance support for minority and women-owned businesses in New Jersey. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon enactment.
