This bill establishes a program within the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to provide grants to recognized veterans organizations for the purpose of delivering mental health services to veterans. The veterans organizations will be responsible for contracting with licensed mental health care professionals to offer these services. The bill also includes a definition of "veterans organization," which encompasses those that qualify as tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code, as well as federally chartered Veterans Service Organizations, the New Jersey SOS Veterans Stakeholders Group, and the New Jersey Catholic Charities Diocese.

To support this initiative, the bill appropriates $2 million from the General Fund to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs specifically for the grants to veterans organizations. Additionally, the Adjutant General is tasked with adopting regulations to implement the program effectively. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
