This bill mandates that electric public utilities in New Jersey establish and maintain a toll-free telephone number for the public to report damaged distribution infrastructure or dangerous vegetation that may interfere with the utility's operations. The bill defines "dangerous vegetation" as any tree or vegetation that poses a threat to the utility's distribution infrastructure, which includes wires, poles, and other equipment used to deliver electricity to customers.

Additionally, the bill requires utilities to publish this toll-free number and an explanation of its purpose on every periodic bill sent to customers and prominently on the utility's website. The act is set to take effect immediately but will remain inoperative for 60 days following its enactment.
