This bill mandates that the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) provide customers with the option to receive certain documents on the same day as their in-person appointment at any MVC agency location. Customers must complete the proper application and payment to qualify for same-day issuance. The documents eligible for this service include a variety of licenses and identification cards, such as standard and REAL ID driver's licenses, motorcycle licenses, learner's permits, and motor vehicle registration certificates.

Additionally, the bill requires the MVC to ensure that each agency location is equipped with the necessary technology, including cameras and license printers, to facilitate the same-day issuance of these documents. The act is set to take effect on the first day of the third month following its enactment, although the Chief Administrator of the MVC may take anticipatory actions to implement its provisions.
