This bill mandates the Department of Human Services (DHS), in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), to launch a three-year advertising campaign aimed at attracting certified home health aides to health care professions. The campaign will highlight the rewarding nature of health care careers and promote available financial support options, such as scholarships and student loan redemption programs. Additionally, the DHS is tasked with creating targeted advertising to recruit certified home health aides from underrepresented racial groups, those with expertise in senior care, and individuals interested in high-demand fields identified by the Commissioner of Human Services.

Furthermore, the bill requires the DHS to submit a report to the Governor and the Legislature on the campaign's implementation and effectiveness within six months after its conclusion. This report must include recommendations regarding the continuation of the advertising campaign. To support this initiative, the bill appropriates $3 million from the General Fund to the DHS for the development and administration of the campaign. The act will take effect immediately and will expire upon the submission of the required report.
