This bill establishes the Office of Women's Services within the Department of Corrections in New Jersey. The office is tasked with ensuring that policies, programs, and services are available to meet the specific needs of female inmates, particularly in areas such as medical treatment (including prenatal care), mental health treatment (addressing trauma from physical or sexual abuse), substance abuse treatment, parenting, and child reunification. Additionally, the office will focus on the needs of female inmates who are pregnant, have recently given birth, or are breastfeeding, as well as any other areas deemed appropriate by the commissioner.

The Office of Women's Services will be supervised by a director appointed by the Governor with the Senate's advice and consent. The director will administer the office's work under the commissioner’s direction and may appoint necessary employees in accordance with Title 11A of the New Jersey Statutes. The bill is set to take effect on the first day of the tenth month following its enactment.
