This bill amends existing laws regarding the publication of the Senate Journals, Assembly Minutes, and their indexes in New Jersey. It mandates that these documents be published online by the Office of Legislative Services instead of being printed and bound as physical volumes. The bill specifies that the Senate Journal, Assembly Minutes, and minutes of joint meetings of both Houses will be published in a style directed by the Senate and General Assembly, and the Office of Legislative Services will also publish the indexes on its Internet site.

Additionally, while the traditional practice of printing these documents is being replaced, the bill allows for the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the General Assembly to request the printing of up to 10 bound copies of the journal or minutes for an entire annual session. The originals of these documents will be sent electronically to the Secretary of State for preservation. This change aims to modernize the dissemination of legislative information and improve accessibility for the public. The act is set to take effect at the beginning of the 2024-2025 Legislative Term.
